Benchmark delivers the necessary tools for you to create effective email campaigns that could help you attract a robust client base.

Benchmark has been a user favorite because of its affordability, with price plans that can definitely save you hundreds of dollars. Notable features that make this service among the top ranks include a range of themed newsletter templates, fast customer feedback turnout, email builder and autoresponder tools, internet-based access, and email marketing articles and resources.

This service developed by Benchmarkemail also offers a free trial for 30 days for those who want to try out Benchmark’s great features.

Feature Set:

Benchmark has a variety of functional features to help you create your ideal campaign mail and help you keep track of your bulk mails. The service allows you to import your personalized email design or use pre-designed templates to suit your marketing campaign needs.

A good element in this service is that it initially approves your list source when you import from a previous source. Benchmark promises to deliver this list approval process within a span of four hours. But as we’ve tested it, our approval only took about an hour and a half, undoubtedly an evidence of Benchmark’s quick service.

Another feature that can help users is the ease of adding an unsubscribed link to emails. The autoresponse mechanism that generates automatic email responses to client’s emails is also a great feature of Benchmark.

Additional features that we think might be needed in Benchmark would be the option to create web forms such as an opt-in page, a SPAM test check to determine whether a user’s campaign would be flagged as SPAM, option to create alias accounts and extra email creation features as well.

Ease of Use:

Based on our review, we find Benchmark’s interface to be user-friendly and simple to follow. But then, this might be more of a drawback for Benchmark. The service could benefit more with a few tweaking in its interface and an integration of a dashboard homepage might be of great help.

A plus factor with Benchmark is it allows you to build your campaigns at your own pace or you can choose utilize its “quick campaign” feature. Although, we suggest an improved interface would be good and this option be located on the client’s homepage would be better. What we specifically liked about Benchmark is the progress bar that let’s you see what step you are in and also allows you to go back to the previous step for editing. Largely, this service doesn’t require much computer knowledge.

Email Campaign Creation:

Benchmark offers quick and easy steps to creating an email marketing campaign. Tabs are organized to allow you to easily click on what you need.

After helping you organize your list, the system will guide you through effortless steps to create your message and complete your email. You can easily navigate back in case you have to edit your work. You can make use of pre-made templates from Benchmark or upload and HTML file to tailor your email campaign.

Benchmark’s selection of unique and professional themes can be utilized by any business type. Benchmark’s image hosting capacity may need to be enhanced though. The service charges an additional $5 for a 25K storage capacity for image hosting, which we think is not really worth it since the capacity isn’t really that big. Going for the option of not purchasing additional space would only allow you to use images available locally on your desktop.  

Campaign Reporting:

Benchmark’s reporting tab presents on hand reports provided by the service. The reports would include features like campaign summary, click-throughs, contact statistics, email forwarding, surveys and email abuse reporting. Benchmark also offers real-time customer feedback data and eliminates the effort of logging each unsubscribe email address in your database because the system would automatically add the customers to a master unsubscribe list once they clicked unsubscribe. What we would like to see at some point is the addition of a conversion tracking feature and report comparisons, and its integration with Google Analytics.

Help/Support:

Benchmark’s help and support system is altogether invaluable. The step-by-step tutorials and set up process is clear-cut and the FAQ section is a great help for users. Other support features would include extensive knowledgebase, live chat, glossary and insightful articles about spamming and tips on list building.

Summary:

In general, Benchmark provides quality email marketing services that make it top-rated. This service offers you tools for making effective email campaign promotions and monitoring and managing customer feedback results. All these can help you target your market and increase your productivity.

Added features that we feel would make Benchmark a complete service include a SPAM test feature and report comparisons for easy correlation. Benchmark could also improve more with the current templates that they have.
